Revelations

Warnings: More Post Meridian/Revelation fic so if you are denial - run for the hills

Author's Notes: Revelations didn't tie up any ends for me - but then I suspect that it never would have.   I wrote this while I was angry - therefore I'm afraid so is Sam.  Thanks as always to the wonderful Tk.  Love you hon.

Feedback: Yes please, feedback makes me glow (though not in the Danny sense).

He didn't know what to do and she was so angry. Such a simple statement for what she was experiencing the raw feelings swirling around and one coming through loud and clear. Anger.

Tossing in bed she tried to ease the pressure in her mind and started to take deep measured breaths. Laying back she relaxed her body and tried to reduce the tension to the point where her body could start to sleep.

And then she felt it again. The stirring of her hair, the feeling of someone's hand brushing her forehead and down her neck. With her eyes closed and room quiet, her senses were sharpened and she became aware of something she had missed before. A feeling, an intense feeling that she had shared with someone before. Orlen.

"Daniel" she whispered slowly and she could then feel the presence more clearly. And it was at this point that she snapped. Opening her eyes she wasn't the least bit surprised to find her bedroom empty and she flung the covers back. Rising from the bed she walked over and turned on the light, wincing slightly as her eyes tried to adjust.

She left her bedroom and walked into the kitchen. Opening the fridge she began to make herself a warm drink when she felt the presence again. The hand on her neck rubbing gently moving down to her shoulders, holding her, reassuring her. And for a moment she leant into it, tears starting to form as the grief started to make itself known again.

"NO!" she yelled moving away. "You have no right to be here." Sam walked to the middle of her kitchen vaguely aware that she was talking to an empty room.

"You left, and you didn't even say goodbye. And now I'm supposed to do what? Grieve, move one, wait for you to return?" Tears started to track down her cheeks.

"I can't do this, I can't live on hope. You were my best friend. And the only way I can get through this is if I let hope go and move on. I need to grieve you and let you go. And I can't do that if I think you are going to come back."

Sam felt the presence try once more to cover her in warmth. "Leave. You've already made your decision and now I've made mine."

Sam stood there for several minutes until she was reassured that she was alone and then sank to her knees, sobs overcoming her.

Daniel didn't know what to do. This had seemed to be the right thing to do - he was dying and this seemed like his only answer and then he was given the choice. Return to his life or move on to a higher existence.

Return to his life. What life? He had been next to useless the past few months and had often felt the spare wheel. The one that they could do without. Lets face it. In the current SGC there didn't seem to be a place for an Archaeologist and linguist. Where had all the riddles gone, the puzzles for him to solve? Where was the chance for him to make a difference?

And now he had lost something more than he could have realised. The pain he now felt was more than he had felt before and he was beginning to think that maybe this had been a mistake.

Shifu joined Oma and Daniel's thoughts were within their minds.

"He is hurting." Shifu said.

"His soul is only just realising its new path" Oma agreed.

"But what of the path of his friends. It grows short."

Oma radiated the sadness that she was feeling "And without him it will cease."

Shifu was shocked at the realisation of her words. "But their path is essential to the great path. Should we have helped him leave it?"

"He left their path long ago. He had no bearing and was wandering aimlessly. Now he has a new direction. A direction away from them."

Shifu understood "Sometimes one must realise that you have become lost before

you can start to find your way home."

"He has yet to realise that he is lost. When he does we must help him find his way back to the path he was always meant to follow." Oma started to leave "The journey he was always meant to finish with his friends."
